Mireya Ayala – Peer Educator - Syringe Exchange

My name is Mireya Ayala, I am a woman of transgender experience and am currently working at PHP as a Peer Educator. My job revolves around Syringe Exchange Program where I exchange members used needles and provide them with clean ones to reduce harm to themselves and help stop the spread of HIV, Hep C and other blood to blood communicable diseases. I love working at PHP because I can be myself and improve my proferssional responsibilities.

Jesse Geguzis – Peer Educator - Facilitator

Jesse recently graduated from Elon University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. He is a newbie in the field of harm redcuction and looking forward to learning and growing within the community.  Jesse is currently diving into the world of community organizing, by starting a new trans masculine spectrum support/social group at PHP. He is also working on redesigning the organization's website. He is excited to see where the new journey will take hi!

Deborah Brooks – Peer Educator - Outreach

Dee Brooks, Gemini, a loving lesbian individual. I stand up for my beliefs.

I am new to the world of harm reduction and look forward to continious development at PHP. In enjoy my new found path in Outreach work in this community. I look forward to seeing the rewards in my continious efforts in promoting risk reduction and identifying new participants.I am always looking to grow and learn new things.

I am a honest and dependable individual. I love all sports, I am very outgoing, yet my ideal weekend would be cuddling up with a good book, soft music and a passionate partner.

Star Gonzalez – Peer Educator - Data Entry

Star Gonzalez, has experience in Case Management , Data Entry and office administration. She loves music, meeting new people and helping others which is how she came to PHP.

Star has been with PHP for a year now and made a commitment to continue to develop herself by wearing many hats at PHP ranging from co-facilitaing, outreach and data entry for all our programs.

In her downtime she enjoys making creating collages and jewelry.
